Making with ice – material that goes through a process similar to what i intend on focusing on *water – frozen form creating a different structure – melt back into staring product*

Explore shapes and materials to freeze – photograph frozen ice and the deterioration of the ice melting

This weekend – make ice objects – cylinder? put in dyes and other materials to change the colour and texture of the ice.

Transformation of and conversion between materials

Previous work: process of making physical objects and transforming into images/video. Correlation between all work where theres a process of changing the medium before having a finalised product.

Experiment with conversion from image to physical? Change from physical – photo – physical i.e. artist Alex Marie – creating distorted images of the body and then making 3D objects/sculptures out of these. Her work explores the relationship to our bodies and their representation through processes of objectification, fragmentation, magnification and accumulation. The photograph is considered as object. 1_4.width-1000

‘How to represent intimacy, those moments where the other’s body is blown up through proximity and every detail of the skin and body unravels. I have always felt teased by the similarities between skin and the photographic print: both surfaces, both fragile, both ungraspable.’

Alexis Hunter –

Series of photographic images, shoes being destroyed, images capturing the deterioration of the material.

‘Series and narrative’

‘Alexis Hunter uses photography in a distinctly powerful way, as a tool to take control of her own sexuality and buck the expected norms of society and gender stereotypes’
